Rosemary Dust - Tallow Soap
AU$6.00
A simple tallow soap with the high vibe of fresh ground Rosemary leaves, with a slight aroma from fresh harvested herb.
Aroma free, tallow soap lathers really well and is hard, lasting well, it has a silky fine lather that cleanses without stripping your skin or hair of your natural oils.
Tallow also has the minerals and fats that will help to bring your skin and hair oils into balance.
The Tea range is perfect for shampoo and body.
My tallow is twice rendered.
I have a beautiful supplier of beef fat. I render the fat with a small amount of celtic sea salt to make the Life Cultured Tallow Skincare range.
My aim is always to stay as close to natural as possible, and depending on where you are in your cleaning product journey, this can be an aromatic adventure.
Your olfactory senses will settle, and you will end up with more ability to enjoy the worlds natural aromas, so may I recommend finding, or growing an aromatic Eucalypt. I have a Lemon Scented Eucalyptus which showers me with aromatic beauty each morning.
Simply 3 ingredients, this Tallow soap leaves your hair silky, shiny and tangle free.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first used tallow soap to wash my hair, how could this simple soap make my hair feel so delightful?
Maybe you are like me, and think that the fat will leave grease, but tallow is no different to the vegetable and plant oils and butters we use, once the soap making process has happened, you no longer have an oily or greasy product.
If you are new to shampoo soaps, or natural soaps, then there may be a transition period as the oils in your scalp come back into balance. The Rosemary Toner is great after washing, it helps restore a healthy pH balance. Simply spray onto wet hair and gently brushed through.
OR... you can make your own balancing hair rinse, dilute 3 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar in 1 cup of water, and rinse through your hair before leaving the shower. You don't need to rinse this out, the aroma will disappear as your hair dries. Try not to get it in your eyes, as it stings, but dilutes well with more water.
I love this soap because of how it makes my hair feels, but also because it is the perfect expression of the heart behind my business and products.
I have a simple question that keeps my awareness of and integrity in my life and business...
"How do I get this without electricity or fuel?"
Tallow soap meets these criteria so beautifully, in a world without electricity or petrochemical use, Tallow soap would look a little something like this... I just enjoyed a successful hunt, and will be cooking my fresh meat over a hardwood fire. I collect the fat and boil it in water, rendering it into Tallow over my hardwood fire. Then I strain water through the hardwood ash to make lye. I can then blend the tallow and lye to make tallow soap! I have made lye this way a few years back, and tested it with my pH meter, it was a pH13!
If this is your first tallow soap, you may notice a slight beef fat aroma...
There are three reasons for being aware of this aroma.
We are used to the stronger and most amazing aromas of essential oils
The effect of using air fresheners, and certain cleaning products and laundry detergents is that they obstruct your olfactory senses, which are the receivers of aromatic compounds you inhale. Which means when you move away from these products, your sense of smell returns along with your physical and energetic health.
Deodorants and anti-perspirant on your body have the effect of interrupting your lymphatic system, and obstructing your aromatic receivers, which stops you from knowing how you smell (which is a great way of being in contact with you physical health), and interrupts your olfactory senses.
