How do I do sun exposure? I have wonderful skin that gets me stopped in the street, I am of olive complexion that goes beautifully black if I see enough sun... but what have you got?
In 1999, I went to Fiji, where the pale English Rose complexion girls were told (by the Fijian's) not to use sunblock, but to use Coconut Oil, reason being, they would burn using sunblock, and tan using coconut oil. Actually, this may have been where my skin care needs began to change
Sun is amazing, and you should move in and out of it during the day to suit how your skin is handling it.
Wearing loose natural fibers is heaps cooler than wearing sunblock and exposing skin, wearing a hat to shield the back of your neck, that area is super sensitive...
But what about sunglasses?
I have just finished 2-3 years of no sunglasses, and just as I was coming back around to being attracted to them again, I spoke with a farmer friend (who I get the beef fat from - love Ya Brenten) who is connected to all sorts of brilliance, and he shared a conversation he had with a chap about the importance of getting sun in your eyes, especially when your skin is exposed.
The Sun going in your eyes stimulates a response in your body that creates a situation in your skin that is going to cope with the sun exposure.
That is as much science as we need, there is logic is in this, like when we start chewing, our gut gets ready for food to arrive, if we scull juices and smoothies, our gut is not ready for the large amounts of molecules that are arriving, unannounced and not dressed for the party.
Back to the Health of Your Skin.
When you remove chemicals from your skin care, you ease the intensity of the sun at the same time you improve the health of your skin.
But, you need to manage your actual sun exposure, regardless of what you plaster onto your skin.
Tallow Zinc has a personality.
The batches will vary in colour, with the infused oil of the season.
The green is Lemon Myrtle, Rosemary makes it go purple, and if I were to use Wild Marigold it will be gold.
The photos show it applied liberally and left as a good barrier, then I blended in the edge of the application (closest to my thumb, and you can see it does absorb, just not completely).
But, as you will see if you follow Maia Movement, you know that I think where we are putting our skincare/food is more important to each of us that what we are using/eating.
When we feel what we are subconsciously doing that is our uncomfortable response to what we are using/eating, then we can release the subconscious doing, the discomfort will ease, and we will naturally reach for something more suitable/nourishing to meet our present moment needs.
Skin care requirements will change as you release subconscious doing, because your circulation to the skin is greatly improved, as is your gut health.
